Wagner to resign seat Monday to focus on governor's race

Wagner’s resignation, first reported by the Philadelphia Inquirer, was confirmed this evening by his campaign spokesperson Andrew Romeo.

“[Wagner] realizes that the way he can bring about the most change and do the most good for the commonwealth is to devote all his time and energy toward getting elected governor and giving Pennsylvanians a different choice,” Romeo said in an email.

Four legislative incumbents lost on an election day that also saw Republican gubernatorial candidates finish their race to out-outsider each other, and sitting Lt. Gov. Mike Stack losing his primary to tattooed progressive Braddock Mayor John Fetterman.

House composition is unchanged as parties trade flips in special elections

Of three special elections in the House yesterday, Democrat Helen Tai flipped the 178th in Bucks County. Republican Tim O'Neal did the same to the 48th in Washington County. The only place whose party control remained unchanged was Tioga County's 68th, which Republican Clint Owlett won.
