There are roughly 800,000 Pennsylvanians, living in mostly rural parts of the state, who cannot access reliable high-speed internet. According to Centre County farmer Bethany Corson, the problem goes far beyond an inability to watch Netflix.

DeLuca highlights "good government" bills and pushes Metcalfe for committee votes

Rep. Tony DeLuca (D-Allegheny) called a press conference to highlight bills he believes will make Pennsylvania government work better. The bills are aimed at increasing political transparency and expanding voter rights.

Rep. DeLuca said the bills have been sitting in the House State Government Committee for over a year and called on Chairman Daryl Metcalfe (R-Butler) to to bring them up for a vote.

Advocates rally to demand action on CPR bill

Dozens of volunteers and workers from the American Heart Association joined in the Capitol Rotunda Monday morning to ask the legislators to vote on Senate Bill 521. 

Senate Bill 521 would ensure that every Pennsylvania high school would give CPR training to every student before they graduate. This bill was created by Senator Tom Killion (R-Delaware) and is on third consideration in the Senate this week. Rep. Stephen Barrar (R-Delaware) introduced House Bill 921 which has been referred to the House Education Committee.
