Pennsylvania Dems propose legislation to extend sexual harassment protections

Flanked by members of the Democratic caucuses from both chambers, Governor Tom Wolf struck a hard tone Thursday as he introduced a package of bills to address sexual harassment and discrimination in the workplace.

“We can not and will not accept this as normal,” Wolf said.

Welcomed by bagpipes, her supporters and her now fellow councilmembers, Erika Strassburger was sworn into Pittsburgh City Council Thursday.

The Democrat, who ran as an independent after failing to secure District 8 committee member’s vote, will be taking former Councilman Dan Gilman’s seat which encompasses Squirrel Hill, Shadyside, Point Breeze, and parts of Oakland.
