Based upon letters sent to the Pennsylvania Supreme Court submitted in advance of the Wednesday deadline they set out for the transmittal of information on redistricting and expert testimony, the court is likely to find itself short of the requested information.

House bill eliminating inheritance tax for minors clears Senate committee

The Senate Finance Committee Wednesday unanimously approved a House proposal that would eliminate the inheritance tax for minors when the transfer of property comes from a deceased parent, adoptive parent, or stepparent.

 

The bill, House Bill 291 sponsored by Rep. Carl Walker Metzgar (R-Somerset), cleared the House in April 2017 along a strong bipartisan vote of 176-21.

Marsy's Law garners support for Pennsylvania crime victims to have constitutional rights

Marsy’s Law for Pennsylvania kicked off it’s campaign Tuesday to amend Pennsylvania’s constitution to strengthen crime victims’ rights. 


The national campaign strives to amend state constitutions to include specific provisions to provide protections for victims whose cases are ongoing.
