Citizens join legislators for medical marijuana open house

Philadelphians joined Sen. Christine Tartaglione (D-Philadelphia) and Rep. Angel Cruz (D-Philadelphia) Tuesday to learn more about medical marijuana and how to register for a usage card. 
 
Earlier this month, the state expanded conditions treatable by medical marijuana to include anxiety and other ailments. Philadelphia has seen multiple dispensaries open recently, although most are in Center City and along City Avenue.

VIDEO: Helm calls for equal custody rights for parents

Rep. Sue Helm (R-Dauphin) is working on getting legislation passed that would call for at least 40-60 custody rights when parents are going through a divorce. 

Helm stated that all to often custody is extremely unequal and studies show a child does better when both parents are involved in their day to day activities.

Wolf, Midwest governors seek increased attention on Great Lakes environmental quality

A group of four Democratic governors, including Gov. Tom Wolf, called Monday on the party’s presidential nominees to give greater attention to the environmental state of the Great Lakes.

The proposed Great Lakes 2020 Presidential Agenda was released by Wolf and Governors JB Pritzer of Illinois, Gretchen Witmer of Michigan, Tim Walz of Minnesota and Tony Evers of Wisconsin in an effort to boost the issue’s visibility ahead of the next round of primary debates, set for Tuesday and Wednesday in Detroit.
