Republicans looking to work with Democrats on Zero Waste PA package

With the General Assembly heading towards budget talks with positive expectations, another set of bills could find  bipartisan agreement. Republican leadership in the House has said it may take up at least portions of  the Zero Waste PA package, a group of bills promoting environmental policy authored by members of the House Democrats’ southeastern delegation.
 
Democrats introduced 13 bills this spring, covering topics affecting consumers, businesses, and municipal behaviors. Of the 14 primary sponsors, 13 are from the Philadelphia area.

Meet Rep. Christina Sappey (D-Chester). After the 2016 budget Sappey found herself annoyed at how things in Harrisburg were being done which helped push her to run. 

She stated that she is "tired of being at the bottom of so many lists," when referring to Pennsylvania and how it performs in different categories.
