Sturla, Wolf call for support for legislation placing a fee on municipalities using solely state police coverage

Rep. Mike Sturla (D-Lancaster) and Gov. Tom Wolf were joined by other members of the House and Senate to ask for support for Sturla's House Bill 959 which would require municipalities to pay a fee if they do not have a local police department and rely on Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) instead.

The money that is currently being used to support PSP covering these areas is coming out of Pennsylvania's Motor License Fund (MLF) which is the money that funds road and bridge maintenance.
