VIDEO: Senate passes Marsy's Law, advocates rejoice

"I'll try not to cry, I've been crying all day," Pennsylvania Victim Advocate, Jennifer Storm, stated before talking with The PLS Reporter about Marsy's Law passing unanimously through the Senate. 

Rep. Sheryl Delozier's (R-Cumberland) bill, House Bill 276 which is also known as Marsy's Law, would amend the state constitution by adding a victims' bill of rights, protecting crime victims and their families.

Delozier, advocates push for the passage of Marsy's Law

Rep. Sheryl Delozier (R-Cumberland) stood beside Sen. John Sabatina (D-Philadelphia), advocates and victims of abuse to push for the General Assembly to pass Marsy's Law. 

Marsy's Law would ensure crime victims have the right to receive information about their rights, receive information about proceedings in their criminal cases as well as the ability to be present at hearings and be heard, and to also be treated with respect, fairness and dignity.

Advocates and survivors call on the Senate to vote on SB 261

The Commonwealth's Victim Advocate, Jennifer Storm, spoke in the Capitol's Main Rotunda Wednesday afternoon about why Senate Bill 261 is so important, and urged the Senate to return to session to vote on it.

Storm was joined by survivors and other advocates who had camped out in the Capitol last week hoping for the bill to get passed.
