Lawmakers debate workers’ compensation bill

Late-night commercials promoting class action mesothelioma lawsuits could come to an end if a bill in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives is made law. 

Lawmakers in the House Labor & Industry Committee held a public hearing Monday on House Bill 1234, which would add latent occupational diseases to the state’s Workers Compensation Act, allowing those with mesothelioma and similar diseases to receive workers’ compensation.
