Pittsburgh Controller says city finances are currently "on target"

If 2016 trends continue, Pittsburgh’s budget surplus at the end of 2017 could be close to $20 million, said City Controller Michael Lamb at his mid-year update on the city’s finances Monday.
The budget surplus for 2016 was more than $37 million thanks to tax revenue increases, particularly real estate and earned income taxes, said the Controller.
